Branko Bahunek is primarily a painter of intimistic “atmosphere” which he creates by painting interiors dominated by the figure of a woman..The women he paints are always figures with small heads and tiny hands but voluptuous bodies. Violeta is a woman in a purple dress leaning against a dresser, with a preoccupied look and bowed head. In the dark interior the skin coloring of the naked leg undoubtedly dominates the painting by its sheer volume.
