Miljenko Bengez was born in 1954 in Zagreb, Croatia. After working at various jobs he starts painting in the 1980s. He actively participates in the programs of the art group “Group 69” with which he takes part in more than 40 shows in various cities of ex-Yugoslavia and abroad. His first one-man show was in Ljubljana in 1987. In 1990 he travels to Florence where he stays six months studying at the Campo del restauro “Lorenzo de Medici” in the workshop of Prof. L.Passeria where he studies the restauration techniques for oil paintings. In 1991 he travels to New York where he lives until 1995 and starts collaborating with the S.E.Feinman Fine Arts Gallery. During that time and since, he has exhibited in group and one-man shows in the United States and Europe. His paintings can be found in many art collections in various countries of the world. He lives and paints in New York and Zagreb.
City On Water
