Christmas Roses

Horizon
This is one of the newer creations of Matko Trebotic, in which he abbandons his traditional figurative way of expressing himself and leans towards the abstract. The lower part of the aquatint depicts the ground which is dominated by a cross with four torsos and a chain of mountains which are the horizon.Above is the sky with a tree top and two cypresses.
Jelacic Square
In his characteristic hyperrealistic style, Jakelic has recreated the main square in Zagreb, dominated by the big equestrian statue to the Croatian ban Josip Jelacic who led the Croats in 1848. By adding a number of wellpainted pedestrian figures he has shown us the everyday life of the square.
Lighthouse
Summer in a typical New England coastal town, dominated by the lighthouse. By using the warm red and orange colors the artist infuses life into an otherwise static scene of a slumbering town.
Little Church
This well known Croatian artist and architect, Matko Trebotic, likes to remind us of the rich cultural and historic heritage of his native Dalmatia. His frequent motifs are the old Croatian churches of the early Middle Ages, of which he shows us the floorplan. Around the church, surrounded by cypresses, are Roman ruins and a monumental cross, all under the burning Mediterranean sun.
Maksimir
This is the largest park in Zagreb with its lakes, woods and Zoo, a favorite of young and old. This is a very realistic work of art showing us one of the lakes in all its beauty.
